Didier Deschamps has been named as the new coach of the French national team.
The 43-year-old recently left his post as manager of Marseille amid rumours that he was to take charge of Les Bleus.
The French Football Federation have now confirmed that the former midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the option of a further two years.
Deschamps, who captained the side to the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, will oversee the team for the first time against Uruguay in Le Havre on Wednesday, August 15.
