Dwight Gayle brace denies Fulham

Dwight Gayle scores twice but Fulham hold Crystal Palace to a 2-2 draw in their end-of-season clash at Craven Cottage.

A Dwight Gayle brace was not enough to hand Crystal Palace the victory over already-relegated Fulham at Craven Cottage this afternoon as the hosts scored late to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Gayle, who bagged a memorable brace in Monday's 3-3 thriller with Liverpool, added another double this afternoon to send the Cottagers into the Championship on a flat note.

The striker scored his first of the afternoon shortly before the half-hour mark, converting Joel Ward's initial effort past goalkeeper David Stockdale.

Cauley Woodrow scored his first senior goal for the West Londoners to restore parity on the hour mark, but Gayle pounced on 83 minutes as Palace looked on course to end their 2013-14 campaign with a victory.

However, Chris David was on hand to bag an equaliser in the dying stages, salvaging a point for Championship-bound Fulham.
