Preview: Group A - Greece vs. Russia

As Group A comes to a conclusion, Sports Mole takes a look at Russia's contest with co-hosts Poland.

Simply put, a point for Russia in Saturday's Group A encounter with Greece at Euro 2012 will see Dick Advocaat's side take a seat at the quarter-final table.

Meanwhile, 2004 winners Greece must win to stand a chance of reaching the last eight.

However, even that may not be enough if results go against them in the match between the Czech Republic and Poland.

Goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias will not feature for the former champions after picking up an injury in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Poland. Michalis Sifakis is expected to deputise for the 38-year-old veteran.

Elsewhere, Sokratis Papastathopoulos is likely to return to the starting XI following a one-match suspension, while Giorgos Fotakis should make way for Giannis Maniatis in midfield.

In contrast, group leaders Russia have a full compliment of players to choose from, but Roman Pavlyuchenko could come in if Advocaat decides to rest Aleksandr Kerzhakov.

Current form:

Greece: LDDWDL
Russia: WDDWWD

Possible lineups:

Greece: Sifakis; Torosidis, K. Papadopoulos, Sokratis, Holebas; Maniatis, Katsouranis, Karagounis; Salpingidis, Gekas, Samaras

Russia: Malafeev; Anyukov, Ignashevich, A. Berezutski, Zhirkov; Shirokov, Denisov, Zyryanov; Dzagoev, Pavlyuchenko, Arshavin

Sports Mole says: 0-3
