Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell insists that his side deserved their 1-0 victory over West Ham United last night.

Paul Jewell believes that his Ipswich Town side fully deserved their 1-0 victory away at West Ham United last night.

The Blues grabbed all three points courtesy of Lee Bowyer's last minute strike at Upton Park, but Jewell has claimed that the winning margin could have been greater.

"We played well, really well in the opening 45 minutes. We were outstanding with our passing and could and should have been ahead," the boss told the club's official website.

"We probably didn't play as well after the break but we showed a lot of resilience. We defended well as a team and got the break at the end but I think we deserved it.

"We had a terrific following from our fans tonight as well and I'm glad we gave them a performance to shout about."

Ipswich are now unbeaten in their last three Championship fixtures.
