Andrea Barzagli: 'Title race not over'

Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli says that the title race is not over, after beating nearest challengers Roma 3-0 this weekend.

Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli has said that the title race is not over, despite opening up an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

The Bianconeri claimed a 3-0 win over second-placed Roma to widen the gap between the two sides in Serie A, but Barzagli insists that there is a long way to go in the season until is anything is decided.

"Is the Scudetto in our pocket? How can I respond? There are still 20 games left," Football Italia quotes him as saying.

"Certainly this was an important game, because it was a direct confrontation. Eight points is a good advantage, but there is still so much until the end of the season.

"It was a tough game, the best moment was at the end when it was over, as for 60 minutes Roma caused us headaches. They are a team to be respected, but we have relied upon our strength."

Juventus visit Cagliari in Serie A on Sunday.
