Former Arsenal star Robert Pires has said that he believes David Beckham will find it hard to adjust to European football once again if the LA Galaxy star moves to PSG in January.
Beckham, 36, is reportedly close to agreeing terms with the mega-rich French club and while Pires has no doubts over his talent, he believes that Beckham's fitness may be tested after four years in the MLS.
"Beckham could really help PSG in the second part of the season if he is in really good physical shape. I don't doubt about his ability but it will be hard for him to maintain his rhythm and complete games for a club like PSG," Pires told The Mirror.
"His age could be overcome by bringing in a level of experience and intelligence to the squad which could be important.
"Beckham will be important for the forwards and his assists can be very useful. But the adaptation to European football again may be difficult."
Pires spent eight seasons playing in France with Metz and Marseille.
