Neil Redfearn left angered by penalty decision

Leeds United boos Neil Redfearn is left fuming after their 2-1 loss to Leeds United as he believes that Luke Varney dived to win an 88th-minute penalty for the hosts.

Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has said that Luke Varney dived to win the penalty that saw his side go down 2-1 away at Blackburn Rovers.

Jordan Rhodes dispatched the 88th-minute spot kick after Sam Byram was adjudged to have felled the forward, but Redfearn has said that Varney should have been booked for simulation.

He told the club's official website: "It's not a penalty. I don't like berating officials and referees because it's a difficult job, but it's such a poor decision and it affects the game.

"The decision should have been a free kick to us and a booking to Varney for simulation."

The loss leaves Leeds in 16th place in the Championship.
