Wes Morgan targets established Premier League status

Leicester City are "better than a good portion of the teams in this league", says captain Wes Morgan.

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan believes that they can become an established Premier League side after staying up on their return to the top division.

The Foxes looked certain to go down in early April, but a run of seven wins in their final nine games catapulted them to safety.

Morgan told reporters: "We want to establish ourselves now and I think we can do that. We've shown what we can do this season and I think we're better than a good portion of the teams in this league.

"But it's one thing saying that, you have to go out and prove it. We don't want to be in a position we've found ourselves in this season and the ambition now is to start challenging and winning more games."

Leicester eventually finished 14th in the Premier League table.
