Nigel Pearson 'disappointed' by late goal

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson expressed his disappointment at missing out on three points to a late penalty kick against Blackpool.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has admitted he was disappointed that his side conceded a late penalty in their 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

Thomas Ince was on target from 12 yards after Kasper Schmeichel was penalised for a foul on Gary MacKenzie to rescue a point for the hosts.

"We've dropped two points late on which is a little bit unfortunate because our second half performance warranted us getting into a winning position," he told the club's official website.

"It was a pretty indifferent first half where we didn't play with the authority that we have done of late, but in the second half we did do that. We dominated for long periods and then managed to get ourselves in front.

"It's always disappointing to concede late goals and the fashion in which we've conceded late today makes it doubly disappointing. Kasper is upset, but it's just one of those things and we're unfortunate not to have three points."

The result leaves Leicester in third place in the Championship table, three points off the top.
