Cristiano Ronaldo's record vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole looks at Cristiano Ronaldo's record in meetings against Liverpool during his time at Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid face Liverpool in the Champions League final this weekend in what could well turn out to be a straight shootout between Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah.

Both players have been in inspired form on the road to Kiev, netting 15 and 10 goals respectively in this season's competition.

Ronaldo, along with the majority of his teammates, will also want to write his name in the record books this weekend, as he aims to cap another stellar individual campaign by lifting the trophy for a third season running.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has performed against Liverpool in the past.

Ronaldo vs. Liverpool

Having previously spent six years in Manchester United's senior ranks, the Reds are not exactly strangers to Ronaldo - he has faced them nine times with the Red Devils and twice during his time at the Bernabeu.

Eight attempts were needed before the Portugal international got off the mark against Liverpool, finding the net in a 3-0 win for his side at Old Trafford in March 2008.

A second goal followed in the next meeting almost a year to the day later, albeit in a 4-1 loss on home soil, leaving him with a mixed return of five wins, three defeats and a draw in this fixture from his days as a United player.

Ronaldo was also on target in a 3-0 win for Madrid four years ago when the sides met in the Champions League group stage, meanwhile, to make it three goals in his last four meetings with Liverpool.
