Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has tipped his former club to win the FA Cup this season.

The Reds begin their campaign with a third-round visit of Oldham Athletic on Sunday, and the retired defender is backing them for glory this term.

Carragher told the Daily Mail: "Teams who do not have Europe on their schedule, such as Everton and Newcastle, will be looking to target this trophy but Liverpool are enjoying a great season and have the weapons to beat anyone on their day."

Carragher played 737 times for the Reds before hanging up his boots at the end of last season.
