Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Liverpool will be looking to end their run of three consecutive games without a win in the Premier League when they welcome high-flying Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp's side kept their hopes of securing the top spot in Group A of the Champions League alive on Wednesday when they steamrolled Rangers 7-1 at Ibrox, with Mohamed Salah coming off the bench to net a sensational six-minute hat-trick.

The Reds, who are unbeaten in four consecutive games against Pep Guardiola's side, will set out to breathe life into their Premier League campaign as they have picked up just 10 points from their opening eight games to sit 10th in the league standings, 14 points adrift of first-placed Arsenal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Manchester City, who were denied a seventh consecutive victory on Tuesday courtesy of a goalless draw with Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Joel Matip was another injury casualty from the 3-2 defeat against the Gunners last weekend as the experienced defender suffered a calf strain that saw him sit out the game against Rangers. The 31-year-old, who has four league appearances under his belt this season, is out of contention for the Reds.
