Jurgen Klopp: 'Christian Benteke ready to face Chelsea'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that Christian Benteke is "prepared" for this weekend's match against Chelsea despite sustaining a knock in training.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Christian Benteke is "prepared" for Liverpool's match against Chelsea in the Premier League.

The striker missed the League Cup match against Bournemouth earlier this week after picking up a minor knee injury in training, but the Belgian insisted that he would be ready for tomorrow's trip to Stamford Bridge.

At his pre-match press conference, the manager said: "It's better than yesterday. Christian trained quite normally together with one of our fitness coaches and it was good, he was okay. He's prepared for tomorrow, I would say, so that's the only thing that changed."

Liverpool, who have drawn both of their league matches since Klopp's appointment, sit ninth in the Premier League table.
