George Boyd 'confident' of pulling off Liverpool upset

Burnley winger George Boyd insists that he and his teammates will "embrace" the challenge of taking on an in-form Liverpool side at Anfield this evening.

George Boyd has insisted that Burnley will not be overawed when they take on the Premier League's most in-form side this evening.

The Clarets are struggling at the wrong end of the table ahead of their trip to take on Liverpool at Anfield, sitting three points from safety in 19th place.

While Burnley have won just one of their last 11 games, the Reds have gone unbeaten in the same length of time to climb within touching distance of the top four.

Despite this, Boyd says that his side will travel to Merseyside confident of pulling off an upset.

"Many of us have never played at places like Anfield before," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "You can either be overawed or try and embrace it and the mindset of this squad is to embrace it.

"We've grown throughout the season. We had a bad start, but we have that confidence now that we can go to Anfield and get points."

Boyd has made 28 appearances for Burnley in all competitions so far this season.
