Steven Gerrard reportedly returns for pre-season at Liverpool two weeks ahead of schedule.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has reportedly begun his pre-season schedule early in a bid to regain maximum fitness.

The 33-year-old underwent shoulder surgery before the end of the season, where he played in every minute of the Premier League until he was forced off the field against Newcastle United on April 27.

It is believed that the England skipper has returned to the Reds' training base Melwood two weeks before his teammates are due to arrive, according to the Liverpool Daily Post.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that striker Luis Suarez will be fully committed to the Merseyside outfit if he decides to stay this summer.
