James Milner has revealed that he hopes to use his experience of winning silverware to help Liverpool on the trophy trail this season.
The 29-year-old joined the Reds on a Bosman after five years with Manchester City, with whom he won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one Capital One Cup.
The Merseysiders have won just one trophy in nine years - a League Cup in 2012 - and Milner aims to help the 18-time league champions re-assert themselves on the domestic scene.
"I've been very fortunate to play for some big clubs in my career and this is another massive club," he told the club's official website.
"With playing for those clubs comes expectation and pressure; this club is used to winning things and every time you step onto the field you're expected to win a game of football.
"I'm used to that and hopefully I can bring those standards with me as well. Together, it's an exciting time at the football club, I look around at the young players here and we've got a great set-up."
Milner will wear the number seven shirt, which was vacated by Luis Suarez when he joined Barcelona 12 months ago.
