Robbie Savage gives Liverpool's season a "grade A+" after the Reds finished second to Premier League winners Manchester City.

Robbie Savage has given Liverpool a "grade A+" rating for their Premier League season this term.

The Reds jumped from seventh to second, and missed out on their first title for 24 years by two points as Manchester City won the league.

However, Savage still believes that the Reds' season should be considered a huge success.

Speaking in his column in The Mirror, he said: "From seventh to second, playing the most attractive football in the country, makes Brendan Rodgers my manager of the season.

"What a shame they stumbled in the last three games, though. Grade A+"

Liverpool will return to the Champions League for the first time in five years next term.
