Former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has revealed why he did not join Liverpool in 2013.
The Dutchman is believed to have attracted interest from the Merseyside outfit four-and-a-half years ago, but he joined Galatasaray instead.
Sneijder has now suggested that he opted against signing for Liverpool because he wanted to win trophies.
"Many clubs wanted to know when I was leaving Inter, and Liverpool was one of those clubs, so people were surprised I chose Galatasaray," the former Real Madrid player told reporters.
"Why Galatasaray and not Liverpool? I am a winner. I play for prizes, so I went to Galatasaray because I thought that I would win more at Galatasaray and be a champion more than at Liverpool, and I think afterwards that I made the right choice.
"I had nice years in Turkey."
Sneijder currently plays for Qatari club Al-Gharafa.
