Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains without a wealth of key names for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City at Anfield.

Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Arthur, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all absent for the contest, but Curtis Jones is in with a chance of being passed fit.

The Reds were handed a boost in midweek as Andy Robertson came on as a substitute in the 7-1 Champions League win over Rangers, and the Scotland international could now come in for Kostas Tsimikas.

Ibrahima Konate's muscular problem should see Joe Gomez partner Virgil van Dijk, as James Milner is thrown into the deep end at right-back.

Klopp should recall Thiago Alcantara to the engine room after he was benched at Ibrox, and the Liverpool boss must decide whether to go with a two or three-man midfield for the visit of the champions.

A 4-3-3 formation may ultimately be preferred if Klopp decides that the 4-2-3-1 is too risky, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho set to join Thiago in the middle if that is the case.

Mohamed Salah's history-making hat-trick against Rangers should be his ticket for a recall to the first XI, and the same can be said for Diogo Jota, who set up all of the Egyptian's goals on the night.

Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino would therefore be left to battle it out to spearhead the attack, and while neither man deserves to be dropped, the former will hope to get the nod.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Milner, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Nunez, Jota
