Report: Alvaro Arbeloa to swap Real Madrid for Liverpool

Liverpool are looking to bring former defender Alvaro Arbeloa back to Anfield from Real Madrid in the summer for a fee of £3.5m, according to reports.

Liverpool are in the running to sign former defender Alvaro Arbeloa during the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Although the 32-year-old's current contract at Real Madrid doesn't expire until 2016, his first-team opportunities appear to be on the wane.

According to The Metro, Arbeloa will be allowed to depart the Bernabeu in the summer, with Brendan Rodgers's side set to make a £3.5m bid for their former man.

Arbeloa could also be reunited with former manager Rafael Benitez at Napoli, with the Italian side reportedly declaring an interest in the Spain international.
