Liverpool announce that 18-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark has signed a new contract with the club.

Liverpool have announced that 18-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark has signed a new contract with the club.

The former Newcastle United protege left the Magpies' youth academy in the summer of 2021 to join the Reds and has since made two senior appearances under Jurgen Klopp.

Clark made his first-team debut for Liverpool in last August's 9-0 Premier League demolition of Bournemouth, coming off the bench for the final seven minutes, before making his first start later that season in an EFL Cup third-round win over Derby County.

The midfielder has not played another senior match for the Reds since, but he was on the bench for Wednesday's 5-1 EFL Cup thrashing of West Ham United and is thriving at Under-21 level.

Clark has registered two goals and three assists from five games in the 2023-24 Premier League 2, most recently coming on to score a 90th-minute winner in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Back in September, the 18-year-old earned his first two caps for England's Under-19s, enjoying a second-half cameo in a friendly loss to Germany before playing 71 minutes of a 4-2 win over Switzerland on the left-hand side.

Clark has become the second Liverpool academy product to sign a contract extension this month after full-back Conor Bradley committed his future to the Reds on December 1.
