Barcelona are reportedly ready to hand a two-year contract to Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno at the end of the season.

Barcelona have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno.

The left-back is currently nearing the end of his fifth campaign at Anfield, but the Spaniard will be allowed to leave the club at the end of his contract in the summer.

Lazio have been strongly linked with an approach for the 26-year-old, but according to Sport, Barcelona have moved to the front of the queue for Moreno's signature.

The report claims that the Catalan giants want to bring in Moreno - who has made just four appearances this season - as backup to Jordi Alba for the next two campaigns.

Moreno would be expected to earn more first-team football at Lazio, but the former Sevilla man may find it difficult to turn down the opportunity to sign for the La Liga leaders.
