Pep Guardiola says that he will be happy whether Manchester City sign any more players this summer or see the transfer window out without further additions.

Pep Guardiola has claimed that he will be happy either way whether Manchester City sign new players or make no more new additions this summer.

The Citizens have already spent over £200m this summer on new recruits, with the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva among their most high-profile signings.

Guardiola told reporters at his press conference on Friday: "We try to build the best squad as possible for the long season. We are going to see how the market finishes.

"If we have to stay with the players we have right now we are happy, if someone comes we are happy too. I know how good the club works since I've arrived here and we try to do our best, sometimes it's possible, sometimes not.

"Every season I start I always believe my players are the best, but we talk with the club, with the sporting director Txiki [Begiristain], with all the players. Everyone has their own opinions and after that we decide what is best to make our club stronger."

City began the Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion and will host Everton on Monday.
