Manchester City are reportedly keen for manager Pep Guardiola to sign a new long-term deal to extend his successful stay with the club.

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to offer Pep Guardiola a new long-term contract to keep him at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola is set to enter the final 12 months of his Man City contract after signing his most recent deal in November 2022.

The Man City boss has confirmed that he has no plans to leave this summer, insisting that he will remain in his post for the 2024-25 season.

However, Guardiola conceded that he is "closer to leaving than staying" after guiding Man City to a record fourth consecutive Premier League trophy.

Guardiola celebrated the 12th top-flight title of his managerial career following Sunday's 3-1 victory over West Ham United.

Man City keen for Guardiola to sign long-term deal

Having enjoyed success with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Man City, Guardiola is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time.

The Man City hierarchy are determined to retain Guardiola's coaching talents beyond the end of his current contract.

According to the Daily Mail, Man City are ready to offer Guardiola a new long-term deal to extend his successful eight-year stay with the club.

The report claims the Citizens will not place pressure on the 53-year-old, but they are keen for him to put pen to paper on a significant extension.

Guardiola reportedly met with one key player over dinner recently to discuss his future and gather their thoughts on the situation.

Guardiola's trophy-laden spell with Man City

The Man City hierarchy are determined to keep hold of Guardiola, having seen him turn the club into one of the powerhouses in world football.

Guardiola led the club to a historic treble-winning season in 2022-23, including the club's first-ever Champions League trophy.

Since taking over the reins in 2016, he has guided the Citizens to six Premier League titles, four EFL Cups, two FA Cups, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup and two Community Shields.

Guardiola will have the chance to bring another trophy back to the Etihad Stadium when his side takes on local rivals Manchester United in Saturday's FA Cup final.
