David Silva: 'Spain don't create enough chances'

Man City's David Silva urges patience as Spain attempt to recover from a disastrous 2014 World Cup, but admits that they do not create enough chances at present.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva has admitted that the Spanish national team do not create enough chances.

Spain crashed out of the 2014 World Cup at the group stage after defeats in their opening two matches, which led to fierce criticism of the reigning European champions.

While Silva acknowledged that some of the backlash was acceptable, he has warned that patience is required with La Roja.

"Over the last few years we've been known for having the ball and creating chances," he told the Daily Mail. "We have to be patient as there are new people here.

"Now we don't really create much. We're working to improve that aspect. We are trying to connect with Costa. We're on it."

Silva also assured Spanish fans that Chelsea striker Diego Costa's hamstring injury is not too serious.
