Barcelona 'offer Philippe Coutinho to Manchester City'

A report claims that Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho to Manchester City, but they want £98m for the former Liverpool midfielder's signature.

Manchester City have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho by Barcelona, who want the Brazilian playmaker off their books this summer.

Coutinho has failed to justify his £142m billing since joining Barca from Liverpool in January 2018 and has recently been subjected to booing from his own supporters.

According to Spanish media reports, Camp Nou chiefs have finally lost patience with the 26-year-old and are now looking to offload him in the coming months.

However, the Catalan giants want £98m for the ex-Liverpool midfielder's signature, a figure which is putting off interested suitors.

The report indicates that Man City have been contacted and there is hope that a deal can be struck, with Pep Guardiola currently mulling over the prospect of adding Coutinho to his squad.
