Manchester City facing English player exodus?

Manchester City could lose as many as six of the English players during the summer, according to a report.

Manchester City will reportedly lose up to six of their English players this summer as manager Manuel Pellegrini believes that there is little value for money in the domestic transfer market.

The Mirror claims that Micah Richards and James Milner may consider their respective future at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, while defender Joleon Lescott is likely to depart on a free transfer.

With Jack Rodwell deemed surplus to requirements at City and both keeper Richard Wright and defender Dedryck Boyata set to be moved on, it would leave Pellegrini with just two homegrown players in his squad.

The Chilean coach is said to find the market for English players lacking in value, but with Premier League regulations restricting the number of foreign players at each club, City's manager may be forced to buy domestic talent.

Last week, the Blues started their Capital One Cup final win over Sunderland with no Englishman in their starting lineup.
