Raheem Sterling reportedly agreed to sign a new long-term deal with Manchester City after the club bowed to his wage demands.
The Citizens are understood to have made a breakthrough in talks with the England international on Friday by verbally agreeing terms.
According to The Mirror, an announcement is close to being made by City on a contract that will run through until 2023 and is worth around £300,000 a week.
Sterling, who is currently believed to be on £180,000, has scored or assisted 36 goals in the Premier League since the start of last season.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the ex-Liverpool forward over the past few months.
