Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has revealed that he will be rooting for former club Borussia Dortmund in Saturday's Champions League final.

Dortmund go up against domestic rivals Bayern Munich at Wembley Stadium as the two German sides fight it out for the title of European champions.

"I've followed how they are doing and have kept in touch with some of the players. Each time they progressed in the Champions League, I sent them a text to say congratulations," Kagawa told United's official website.

"Dortmund will play hard without being over-confident. I expect it will be an exciting match and I hope Dortmund will be European champions."

Kagawa became the first Japanese player to join Manchester United when he arrived at Old Trafford last summer.
