Manchester United secretary: 'We can win Champions League'

Manchester United can win the Champions League, according to Red Devils secretary John Alexander.

Manchester United secretary John Alexander has claimed that the Red Devils can win the Champions League on their return to the competition this season.

The Premier League giants were paired alongside Club Brugge in the playoffs, having finished fourth in England's top flight last term.

Despite being absent from the competition since the 2013-14 season, though, Alexander is confident that the three-time winners can add a fourth title come May.

"We're absolutely delighted to be back in the competition. We're back where we want to be," Alexander told UEFA.com.

"Belgian football is right at the very top and we have two Belgian players [Januzaj and Fellaini] in the squad who keep us abreast of what's going on there. We go into any game with confidence.

"We'd like to think we can win the competition."

The first legs of the playoffs will be played on August 18 and 19, with the return meetings taking place on August 25 and 26.
