David Moyes talks up Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney importance

Manchester United boss David Moyes backs Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney to fire his side past Olympiacos in the Champions League.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has backed Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie to fire the Red Devils past Olympiacos in the Champions League.

The Premier League champions travel to Greece for the first leg of their tie on Tuesday evening.

Moyes told reporters: "They're both vital to a lot of things we do. They're both excellent players and our record with them is better than without them, for sure.

"They've both got themselves back into great shape and both are goalscorers. They score in the big games and make the big moments."

United warmed up for their European clash with a 2-0 win away to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
