Louis van Gaal: 'Marcus Rashford ready for England call'

Louis van Gaal believes that Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is not too young to play for England at Euro 2016.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that it is "never too early" after England manager Roy Hodgson refused to rule out the possibility of naming Marcus Rashford in his Euro 2016 squad.

Rashford, 18, has burst onto the scene with four goals in his first three United appearances and Hodgson appeared to open the door for Rashford to stake his claim for a place in the senior Three Lions set-up this summer.

When asked about the possibility of Rashford playing in France, Van Gaal told reporters: "It's never too early. I have said that also in my press conferences.

"Age is not important, it is the quality [of the player]."

England have been drawn in Group B of Euro 2016 alongside Russia, Wales and Slovakia.
