David Moyes eyes League Cup final

Manchester United David Moyes sets his sights on reaching the League Cup final following his side's exit from the FA Cup.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has set his sights on reaching the Capital One Cup final after being eliminated from the FA Cup on Sunday.

United will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday knowing that the competition now provides their most realistic chance of picking up silverware this season.

However, despite Sunderland finding themselves in a relegation battle in the Premier League this season, Moyes is expecting a tricky match against the Black Cats.

"Our approach to Sunderland had to have the FA Cup game in mind because it was two matches in 48 hours. It has always been vital for us to win every game and get to every final if we can," PA quotes Moyes as saying.

"There is a job in front of us in every competition we enter. We have got to overcome Sunderland in a two-game match to reach the final.

"It will be a difficult game and difficult to judge exactly how the first leg will go. But we will try to get ourselves to the Cup final if we can."

United are currently languishing down in seventh place in the Premier League table, five points behind the top four.
