Sir Alex Ferguson: 'Title belongs to Leicester City'

Sir Alex Ferguson predicts that Leicester City will wrap up the Premier League title with three games to spare and also tips West Ham United for the Champions League.

Sir Alex Ferguson has predicted that Leicester City will win the Premier League title with three games to spare.

The Foxes currently lead the way by two points but could restore their advantage to five if they win their game in hand against relegation-threatened Newcastle United on Monday night.

"Of course they can [win it]," Ferguson said at a Cheltenham Festival preview lunch. "I believe they will win it with three games to spare."

The 74-year-old went on to back West Ham United to secure Champions League qualification by finishing fourth, predicting that Manchester City and United would miss out on Europe's elite competition next season.

If Ferguson's prediction comes to fruition, Leicester will arrive at Old Trafford on May 1 having just been crowned champions.
