Jesse Lingard hails Cameron Borthwick-Jackson's development

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has "come on leaps and bounds" over recent years, according to his Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard.

Jesse Lingard has praised fellow Manchester United academy graduate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson for the improvements that he has made to his game.

Nineteen-year-old Borthwick-Jackson did not feature for the senior side until early November, but since then United's numerous full-back injuries have seen him make nine appearances.

Last night he played the entire 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Stoke City, setting up the opening goal of the game for Lingard.

"Cameron's a very composed player. He's come into the first-team fold, he's played a few games and now he's getting that experience that he needs. He's slotted right in and done very well," Lingard told reporters.

"He has come on leaps and bounds from when I knew him in the Under-18s. He's a relaxed and composed lad, he's got a great cross in him and he gets forward a lot. His defending is 10 out of 10 as well, so he's doing very well at the minute."

A recent report claimed that Borthwick-Jackson was in line to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.
