David Moyes: 'Darren Fletcher not ready for return'

Manchester United boss David Moyes says that midfielder Darren Fletcher is not yet ready to return to first-team action.

Manchester United boss David Moyes has said that midfielder Darren Fletcher is not yet ready to return to first-team action.

Fletcher has not featured for the club since December of last year due to a bowel problem, with the Scotsman currently limited to playing with United's youth team.

"I don't think he's quite ready yet," Moyes told the club's official website. "He has a bit to do in terms of more reserve games.

"It's great to see him training regularly, that's a big thing. He's beginning to look like a footballer again, and that in itself is a real plus for him.

"I wouldn't want to put a date on (a return) because of the condition. It's something we just have to take as we go along. He's training well and looking good, so we'll try to ensure that continues."

United are currently in sixth position in the Premier League table following a faltering start to the season.
