Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that he is ready to face a hostile reception when his side travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The 63-year-old was close to taking over at White Hart Lane after announcing his decision to leave his role with the Netherlands at the end of the 2014 World Cup.
However, the Dutchman opted to join the Red Devils when offered the post, turning down the approach from Spurs, who appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their manager.
Van Gaal told reporters: "I have managed that with a lot of clubs. I cannot change that. I don't have any influence on that so I don't make any trouble with them.
"That is history. We have to speak about what is happening now. Now it is Pochettino, the new manager, and I am the new manager of Manchester United. You move on."
United are unbeaten in their last eight matches going into their clash against Spurs.
