Arsene Wenger claims that his Arsenal team will answer questions on their title credentials with a win over Manchester United on Wednesday.

Arsene Wenger has claimed that his Arsenal team will answer questions surrounding their Premier League title credentials with a victory over Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Gunners went down 5-1 to Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon, with Brendan Rodgers's men hitting four of their five-goal haul in the opening 20 minutes.

Consequently, doubts have been raised over whether or not Wenger's charges can sustain their title challenge, but the Frenchman is confident that next week's visit of the champions will see the North London outfit respond to their detractors.

He told the club's official website: "It is not about what people say, it's how we respond that matters.

"I can completely understand that people will raise questions. We only have one way to respond answer that - which is on Wednesday night."

Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Newcastle meant that the Blues nudged Arsenal from top spot in the standings.
