Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on Saul Niguez's situation at Atletico Madrid, with the Blues weighing up a move for the Spaniard before the end of the summer transfer window.
Saul's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona all credited with an interest in his services.
The 26-year-old was again an important player for Atletico last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, while he played the full 90 minutes of last weekend's 2021-22 opener with Celta Vigo.
Saul is believed to be available for the right price this summer, though, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are considering making an offer for the versatile midfielder.
Romano claims that both the Blues and Atletico will soon make a decision on the Spaniard, who still has five years left to run on his contract at Wanda Metropolitano.
Saul, who was not included in the La Roja squad for this summer's European Championship, has made 338 appearances for the La Liga champions in all competitions.
