Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly pushing for the Red Devils to sign Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn in this summer's transfer window.
McGinn starred for Villa during the 2018-19 campaign following a move from Hibernian, scoring six times and registering 10 assists in 40 Championship appearances.
According to The Sun, Ferguson is close friends with the 24-year-old's grandfather Jack, and the United legend is desperate for his former club to launch a summer move.
The report claims that the 77-year-old still has a say at Old Trafford when it comes to transfers.
Villa, who have been extremely active in this summer's transfer window ahead of a return to the Premier League, are believed to value McGinn in the region of £50m.
The 20-time English champions have already completed deals for Welsh attacker Daniel James and English defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
