Joan Laporta has claimed that he has no intention of bidding for Angel di Maria if he becomes Barcelona's new president.
The Argentina international endured a disappointing first season at Manchester United following his big-money move from Real Madrid.
Di Maria has since been linked with a return to Spain, but Laporta insists that he has no plans to bring the midfielder to Camp Nou.
"We could not think about signing Di Maria," Laporta told Catalunya Radio.
"We guarantee that we will win because we manage sporting success. I am very excited to be able to lead the club."
Laporta, who previously served as Barcelona's president from 2003 to 2010, will stand against Josep Maria Bartomeu in next month's elections.
