Manchester United, Chelsea offered Alexandre Pato?

A report claims that Manchester United and Chelsea have been given the green light to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato.

Former Brazil international Alexandre Pato has reportedly been offered to both Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 25-year-old, who is believed to have been made available by his club Corinthians for around £11m, has been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Stoke City in recent weeks.

However, according to the Daily Telegraph, United and Chelsea have also been given the chance to sign the ex-AC Milan frontman, although it remains to be seen if either club will decide to make a concrete offer.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has only just bolstered his attacking options with the arrival of Pedro from Barcelona, while he also has Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy to call upon up front.

In contrast, United boss Louis van Gaal has less options, with Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez the only senior centre-forwards at Old Trafford.
