Manchester United have reportedly made Harry Kane their number one target in the summer transfer window.
With Erik ten Hag setting his sights on buying a new number nine for next season, it was thought that Napoli's Victor Osimhen would head their shortlist of targets.
However, after another trophyless season was confirmed with Tottenham Hotspur's exit from Europe in midweek, Kane may leave the club in the hunt for silverware, opening the door for United to move in.
A report in The Mirror suggests that Bayern Munich will provide stern competition for Kane's signature as the German giants have their eyes on improving their frontline too.
The England captain will have just 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season, so chairman Daniel Levy may opt to sell the striker instead of losing him on a free if they cannot tie him down to a new deal.
Bayern lead the Bundesliga currently and can win an 11th consecutive title should they hold on to top spot, giving Kane a big opportunity to win trophies to go along with his personal accolades.
However, with Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goals record in sight, Kane may prefer to stay in England, making Man United the most attractive option to him.
