Manchester United reportedly intend to prioritise the signings of Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Leicester City's James Maddison during the summer transfer window.
While United need to add more creativity in the centre of the pitch and on the flanks, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is running out of time to strengthen in those areas in January.
Despite the growing frustration at Old Trafford, The Independent claims that every effort will be made to bring in Grealish and Maddison later in 2020.
The report suggests that the two English playmakers are at the top of the club's shortlist ahead of what is likely to be a busy period at the Theatre of Dreams.
Between them, Grealish and Maddison have contributed 13 goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season.
While Grealish could cost upwards of £50m, Leicester are said to value Maddison in the region of £80m.
