Report: Manchester United defender Paddy McNair to leave in January

Paddy McNair plans to leave Manchester United in January in search of first-team football to make Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 squad.

Manchester United defender Paddy McNair will leave Old Trafford in January if the opportunity presents itself, according to reports.

The 20-year-old, who made 16 Premier League appearances last term, has started once for the Red Devils in a season which has seen him fall down the pecking order.

With Northern Ireland heading to Euro 2016 next summer, McNair is worried that his lack of first-team chances will cost him a spot in Michael O'Neill's squad.

Consequently, the youngster is keen to quit United as Championship outfits Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers ready themselves for a bidding war next month, according to The Express.

McNair has five caps for Northern Ireland and helped them book their spot in France for the finals.
