Real Madrid are reportedly planning to turn their attention from signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to bringing in Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering switching their attention from Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Madrid are expected to make at least one more big-money signing this summer, having already brought in the likes of Eder Militao, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard as part of their squad overhaul.

Pogba has long been touted as one of Madrid's main transfer targets, but the Spanish giants are understood to have been put off by both United's £159m asking price and the Frenchman's wage demands.

The Independent reports that Los Blancos are now considering moving for Eriksen instead of Pogba as they believe that a deal for the Dane would be easier to push over the line.

Eriksen recently suggested that he was eager for a new challenge this summer, while he only has a year remaining on his current contract and so would therefore be a cheaper option.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is still understood to favour compatriot Pogba, but the Madrid hierarchy believe that a bid for Eriksen makes more sense.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013 and has gone on to make more than 250 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 66 goals.
