Lyon have denied speculation that they have agreed a £44m fee with Real Madrid for Ferland Mendy.
Reports had suggested that the two clubs had come to terms over a deal for the full-back, who is understood to be one of Madrid's primary transfer targets this summer.
Mendy was even reported to have undergone a medical with the Spanish giants ahead of becoming their fourth summer signing after Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes and Luka Jovic.
However, Lyon have now officially denied that they have reached an agreement with Madrid for Mendy.
"Olympique Lyonnais denies an agreement with Real Madrid for a possible transfer of its international defender Ferland Mendy, contrary to what has been relayed by some media," read a tweet from the club's official account.
The 23-year-old's form last season saw him make 40 appearances across all competitions and earn a maiden call-up to the French national team.
