Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly contacted AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci regarding a summer switch to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils boss is understood to be in the market for a new centre-back to bolster his squad ahead of a likely Premier League title challenge next season.
Italian outlet Tuttosport suggests that Bonucci has emerged as a target for Mourinho, who has already discussed a transfer with the experienced defender.
Bonucci was only signed by Milan from Juventus last summer, joining in a £37.5m deal, but economic struggles will force the Rossoneri to sell a couple of players in the coming weeks.
According to the same report, Milan do not intend to listen to any bids below £35m, although an initial loan offer with an obligation to buy could be an option.
