Manchester United are lining up a move in January for Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay, according to a report.
The 28-year-old has been earmarked by Louis van Gaal as the perfect player to remedy his side's defensive woes, as the Red Devils have struggled immensely at the back since the start of the season.
Garay only joined the Russian side in the summer in a £12m deal from Benfica, which could present a problem for Van Gaal and United, but the 63-year-old is confident that he will be able to lure the Argentine to Old Trafford, reports The Mirror.
The Red Devils have conceded 12 goals in eight Premier League games this season ahead of their clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
