Milan Skriniar has suggested that he is close to extending his stay with Inter Milan, despite emerging as a rumoured target for Manchester United.
The Red Devils' search for a new centre-back has reportedly seen them turn to the 23-year-old, who started all 38 of his side's Serie A matches in his debut campaign at San Siro.
Barcelona have also been credited with showing an interest in Skriniar, but the Slovakia international is prepared to knock back any offers as long as Inter want to keep him.
"It's nice to know that you are appreciated by other big clubs in Europe, but I've never thought to leave the club," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The future depends on the club and I accept whatever they decide. My agent is in talks with the bosses at the club. It's not done yet, let's see what happens."
Skriniar completed the most passes (2,170) of any Inter player in the Italian top flight last season.
